A Dreamy Styled Shoot at Norwood Park
We all know that Tuesday can be a hard slog and so we’re sharing something super beautiful with you on the blog right now to banish those post-weekend blues.
This gorgeous styled wedding shoot was inspired solely by the star of the show, model Felicity, with her auburn hair and porcelain skin being the catalyst for all the wonderful styling.
Captured at the elegant Norwood Park in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, we love the fanciful hairstyling, natural makeup, textured dresses and whimsical blooms that bring the whole dreamy look together.
To explain more about the details and experts involved, we’re handing over the blog to hairstylist Alison Jenner who organised the pretty…
Felicity, our stunning natural redhead model, was the inspiration for this gorgeous shoot. Having known Felicity since she was a child, I have watched her grow into such a naturally beautiful young lady, and so she was the starting point and everything else followed.
Our setting for the shoot was Norwood Park, a stunning Georgian house set in 100 acres of land within my home town of Southwell. We were kindly given free reign of the whole venue. Owned by the Starky family for many years, Georgie and Henry are doing an amazing job of taking the beautiful house forward. They have lots of fabulous events planned, but most importantly, are putting the venue on the wedding world map with its great reputation and their continued success.
With the photography I just knew the feel of the images captured would be natural, yet dreamy, and very feminine. Her attention to detail is like no other yet she works in such a relaxed and calm way – you can’t help wanting the day not to end.
When it came to styling Felicity’s hair, I wanted to create a more untamed feel with the use of the floral crown. There were a number of different styles, starting with a slightly dressed look that had volume and movement. Plaits are still so on trend so we switched to quickly create a totally different look. Finally I created a more vintage look, which was soft yet structured, to complement, but not outshine, the Eliza Jane Howell dress.
Cristina Lazzarotto, a talented makeup artist I have known for years, provided show stopping makeup. Ranging from a gorgeous natural look building to a stronger yet still dreamy finish. The idea being that more doesn’t have to mean too much.
Having described the venue and style of model to Lisa and Victoria of Cicily Bridal, a stunning chic bridal boutique based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, they instantly knew the look we needed. A dreamy Naomi Neoh gown was provided to add some drama and effect, and a stunning Eliza Jane Howell gown was also picked out for a more edgy, sleek and timeless feel. A couple of beautiful veils were also featured to create different looks.
For a number of the shots we incorporated some stunning gold hair accessories, provided by Flo and Percy. The wonderfully detailed pieces added a beautiful finish when we moved away from floral pieces in the hair to something a little dressier. The gorgeous jewellery meanwhile was loaned from Last Night I Dreamt, a stunning jewellers based in Southwell stocking contemporary designs by the likes of Alex Munroe, Daisy of London, Claudia Bradby and Molly Brown of London.
Amazing florist Michelle of Jacaranda Flowers, provided the fabulous florals for the shoot. We spoke about the feel of the shoot, location and colour scheme, and decided on lovely soft peach tones to complement Felicity’s auburn hair. Lots of foliage and slight accents were used to bring everything together. Basically Michelle could just let her imagination run away with her and she always manages to create the wow factor.
Finally, Helen Alborn Cakes provided our stunning wedding cake. Another super talented lady and the look she created was perfect. The cake had a neutral palette with stunning gold accents. It was both elegant and sophisticated, and fitted in beautifully with the whole shoot.
Having done so many weddings at Norwood Park it was a joy to return for this styled shoot. As always we just all came together on the day and let things roll. A creative input from everyone creates such an exciting and inspiring atmosphere, especially when you can start to see the images that are being captured. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to achieve, and I think I can honestly say we did that – and more!
When you have such a great team of suppliers you know you will be blown away by the results. More than just being suppliers in the same industry, we are all friends. To have such talented eager friends is a blessing and makes working together such a joy. We’ve already got plans in the pipeline to do more shoots.
